Pimples are a nightmare! Don't you just hate it when you wake up in the morning and see a huge pimple staring back at you in the mirror?
It always seems to appear right when we don't want it the most. On the first day of school, have that big date coming up or when we have that really important job interview.
Don't blame yourself, these little buggers are actually infections that appear in the skin due to built up dirt and bacteria.
A pimple is not just the white gunk that shoots out when you pop it. Yes, we have all seen this gunk and it is not pretty. I've even seen it in projectile mode, but that is another story.
You might be really tempted to just pop it and get it over with but that is not always the best idea. Sure it may make you feel better going out in public, but the residual affects are not worth it. Let me explain...
When you pop a pimple it creates a small open wound on your face. Which leaves it open to infection which will only lead to more whiteheads. In fact, popping a pimple will most likely just lead to even more pimples. Who wants that? Certainly not me.
Another negative for popping pimples is that it spreads oil, dirt and bacteria on your skin, which just spreads them. What you need is a solution that will stop the cycle. It seems like many of these pimple solutions are not really "solutions" after all.
The last thing you want to do is keep popping your pimples and develop acne scars that stay with you for the rest of your life. Stop thinking about the short term satisfaction of popping your pimple and think about the long term health of your skin! You owe this to yourself.
We have all seen adults that have pock marks in their skin because they did not heed this advice when they were younger. Don't let your skin turn into this. Reverse the damage while you still can.
What is a person to do then when faced with a mounting pimple (no pun intended)? Well, start off with a better diet. What you put in your body comes out through your pores. When you eat healthy food you will have healthy skin.
A person eating pepperoni pizza every day will start to have a face that resembles what they are eating. Not very cute after a while.
Stressing out certainly does not help the situation either. Calm down and clean up your lifestyle. Stress and dairy products produce hormones in our bodies that don't give off the most flattering affects for our complexion.
If things get really bad you may want to consider visiting a doctor to see if there is a more complicated problem on your hands. However, most of the time you can clear this up on your own.
Just keep your fingers away from those pimples and resist the urge to pop. Your complexion will thank you in the long run.

Choosing a Manicure Set
Truly beautiful nails need care and attention on a regular basis and what better way to pamper them, than with an exquisitely crafted manicure set. When choosing a manicure set, bear in mind what requirements you need - Do your nails often snag? Are they fast growing? Do you have brittle nails? Different nail types may require slightly different implements, so it is worth considering this before you make a purchase.
A standard manicure set should always contain nail scissors, tweezers and a nail file, but many luxury sets have extra implements such as clippers, nail pliers and under nail cleaners.
Nail clippers are great for cutting down long nails, but can leave the tips of nails angular and square. To create a less jagged and more rounded tip to nails, manicure scissors are ideal as the blades are curved. This means they can follow the natural shape of the nails more easily. Another key advantage of nail scissors is that you can see exactly how much of the nail is being trimmed, which is sometimes difficult to judge with nail clippers. Nail scissors are also a good investment for those with brittle nails to prevent nails from snapping it is best to keep them short. Cutting brittle nails with nail clippers may cause them to split, whereas nail scissors produce much less pressure on the nail when cutting, reducing the chance of this happening.
Nail pliers are more robust, and create a greater cutting force. As such, they should be avoided for use on delicate nails, but are perfect for thick nails especially toe nails! Often, normal nail clippers or scissors just can't adequately cut toe nails, but with professional quality nail pliers, cutting tough nails becomes easy.
Cuticle shapers, or a 'hoof stick' can be used to push and shape cuticles back from covering the nail, to the base of the nail bed. Not only does this give the nail a neater appearance, but it actually helps promote nail growth. Overgrown cuticles cover the nail plate and this impedes growth, so regular cuticle care can help those with shorter nails. Shapely cuticles are also an advantage for those who frequently paint their nails, as it creates a better shaped nail, and painting over the top of cuticles will result in nail varnish chipping more easily.
Longer nails may benefit from a nail cleaner, as these are specifically designed to reach under the nail and help remove any debris and dirt that collects under it.
Many manicure sets also have a nail file, which is always a great investment. Nail files are perfect for shaping the tip of a nail once it has been cut to a desired length, or for getting rid of jagged ends when a nail tears. Ensure that you file in one direction only for a smooth edge.
Manicure implements come in a variety of finishes: stainless steel, chrome or even gold-plated. Professional quality implements are considerably more expensive but should last a lifetime and carry a guarantee. Manicure cases are available in many different styles and finishes. A small neat one is perfect for keeping in a handbag for that unforeseen emergency! Leather sets are more expensive than those made from man-made materials, but make a lovely present to give or receive.

14 Little Known Anti Aging Facts
Isn't it strange? When we were children, we wanted to grow older as fast as possible because we wanted to have and enjoy all the good things that only grownups were allowed to! When we reached the adult age, we missed our childhood because of all the responsibilities that came with growing up. And when we grow old, we miss both!
So, how do you ensure that you age gracefully with fewer burdens to yourself or others? Allow me to list a few things that will help you in this endeavor:
1. First of all, remember that aging is all in the mind. If you think you've grown old, you most certainly have. But if you remain young at heart, you'll age more slowly and gracefully.
2. Try to maintain a routine in your life. This includes waking up early in the morning, going to bed early, taking a short nap in the afternoon, eating the right food at the right time, etc.
3. Exercise at least 3 times a week. If you can't do pushups, do some light aerobic exercise. Take a walk for at least 45 minutes a day, preferably in the morning.
4. Maintain a reading habit and endeavor to learn something new every day. Never let the brain idle; an idle brain is the devils workshop. And the devil's name is Alzheimer's. Your knowledge will also help your children and grandchildren in learning the ways of life.
5. Avoid or drastically reduce tobacco intake at all costs.
6. Avoid or reduce your alcohol intake. If you must, take a glass of red wine. A light beer is OK once a while.
7. Avoid or reduce junk food and products with high fat content / cholesterol. Avoid fried food at all costs. Eat more fruits and vegetables, especially starch. De-toxify your body at least once a month.
8. Avoid stress at all costs. Stress is a major aging accelerator. Remember, getting tensed about a problem is not going to make it go.
9. Laughter is the best medicine and it is 100% true. Crack jokes and have a nice laugh every single day! Quite a few clubs now include laughter sessions.
10. Regularize your water intake. Insufficient water intake causes dehydration which makes you feel tired and distressed. It can also result in headaches, constipation, chronic fatigue, dizziness, impotence, hair loss and more. Drink half a glass or one glass of water every hour.
11. Do not nag your children or grandchildren to the point that they would rather avoid you, or worst still, prefer you dead. Remember, everyone prefers to live their life in their own chosen independent way. You may advice them at times but don't go overboard. If they stop caring for you, you have no one to blame but yourself.
12. Make people want to be with you! When you have to kill time, you may want to visit friends and relatives regularly. Always remember to make it worthwhile for them to meet you. When you're planning to have dinner with them, don't go empty handed. Take some fruit or gift with you don't make someone feel you like a burden. Be the first to propose to leave; don't wait to see a bored expression on their face. Make them look forward to see you again, not despise your company.
13. Yoga and meditation is also good for anti aging - you should seriously consider it.
14. Finally, remember that your physical health, mental health and spiritual health all go hand in hand. Each of them either boosts the others or affects it negatively, depending on what you do.
I hope you found this article useful. Unfortunately, aging is a huge subject and I cannot give it justice with just one article. Top 3 Reasons For Curing Your Acid Reflux
If you've been an acid reflux sufferer for any length of time then you've probably spent a lot of time looking for a cure of some kind to end the pain. Heartburn, even if it's just now and again, is a real drag on how you live your life. You never know exactly when it's going to strike or how severe the pain might be this time.
There's nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night in the middle of an attack of acid reflux and flailing around trying to find antacids when you're half asleep. Your sleep is broken, you're uncomfortable and your gut hurts. Not a good night.
There are 3 really good reasons for wanting to cure your heartburn.
Quality of Life
Curing your heartburn will mean an instant change in your quality of life. The first thing you'll notice is that you're able to sleep through the night without any attacks of acid reflux to wake you up. This means that your body is going to be more rested in the morning and you're basically going to have a far better day.
You also won't have heartburn problems during the day either which means you're going to spend more time enjoying your day and less time eating handfuls of antacids to quench that fire in your stomach. TV ads make heartburn look almost trivial but that burning sensation in your throat and stomach is far from being fun.
Enjoy Your Meals
Eating food before or after an attack of acid reflux is an absolute nightmare. Reflux can leave you feeling bloated before the meal even begins and even a simple mouthful of wine can be enough to set off another attack. Eating a good meal is one of the most basic pleasures any human being can enjoy and doing that without having to worry about heartburn will make any social event a lot more enjoyable for you.
One note on the above - using a heartburn cure or remedy and eating piles of spicy food isn't going to work. You're fooling nobody. A major part of your "cure" would be to eat sensibly - if a particular type of food gives you heartburn... guess what? Avoid it!
Prevent Cancer
There is a condition called Barretts Oesophagus that can lead to a type of cancer appearing in your throat. This only happens to certain people and only when they've made no attempt to deal with their acid reflux at all. Should you be scared? If you have severe heartburn that's been going on for years then it would be a good idea to go and have a checkup. It's quite rare to develop cancer as part of chronic heartburn but why take chances?
Let's be clear here - heartburn doesn't cause cancer but the damage done to the tissue in your throat can cause cell damage and allow cancerous cells to develop. Again if you're not sure get a checkup.
So we've talked about a cure a lot here but not actually shown you one.
For that information folks you're going to have to follow the links right below here.

The Dummies Guide to Curing Heartburn
The term heartburn is used to describe a feeling that people get that isn't actually anything to do with their heart at all. That awful sensation that wells up in your chest isn't even remotely related to your heart; it actually starts in your gut. Heartburn or acid reflux as it's otherwise known starts with a problem with the control of the acid in your stomach.
The pain you feel during a bout of heartburn is down to the acid from your stomach moving back up your throat towards your mouth. Now bearing in mind that the acid in your stomach is hydrochloric acid (strong enough to melt metal) your throat (your esophagus) is going to be severely irritated by this acid. It's actually burning away at your flesh which is what causes that intense pain in and around your chest.
How often you actually get heartburn and how severe it is depends on a lot of factors such as stress and especially what types of foods you eat a lot. Spicy foods or foods that have a very high acid content are almost guaranteed to cause an attack of acid reflux; so if they're part of your diet you may want to cut them out totally. For some people heartburn is a just a passing nuisance pain. For other folks out there it's a constant battle against a painful problem they'd much rather get rid of.
When you get an attack of heartburn the way it appears varies from person to person. Some people feel a burning sensation in their throat, some people can't stop burping and some others even begin to choke. Overall the most common sign of acid reflux is that nasty taste of vomit in the back of your mouth.
So what causes this problem?
Basically there's a valve in your stomach designed to keep the acid down there. Sometimes this valve gets jammed open and the acid in your stomach escapes and flows up towards your throat. This happens a lot when people are laying down - maybe having a nap after a meal. Heartburn itself can be made far worse by your diet - eating spicy foods definitely won't help.
Is it treatable?
Sure. There are dozens of treatments out there for heartburn/acid reflux and you'll be spoiled for choice when choosing one. Actually there's that many options out there just making the choice can be a headache. You have so many different over-the-counter treatments to choose from first. Dozens of them. Then you move into the territory of prescription treatments and all the "potential" side-effects that are tied to those. Some people even go as far as having surgery as a longterm solution for their reflux....which is a bit drastic no?
If you're like me you probably prefer to go the "natural route" for treating a problem like this. Especially considering the fact that most acid reflux "cures" can only be used for 2 weeks and then you have to stop. Not really a cure is it?

Getting Cosmetic Surgery in Canada
Canada has an incredible history of cosmetic surgeons. However, many Canadians still wonder if cosmetic surgery is a safe route to take. It is only natural that Canadians wonder if this voluntary surgery is a safe one. There are always a lot of questions circling around voluntary surgeries. That is why it is important to acquire as much information as possible. And Canada is not the only country in which questions loom. The United States also has a lot of questions and speculation wondering around. Mostly because there are some methods used in the United States that are not used elsewhere in the world because of safety concerns.
Cosmetic surgery in Canada
Canadian cosmetic surgery dates back to before World War I. This is because it is a practice that was used to help maimed soldiers. The doctor who performed this surgery was Dr. E. Fulton Risdon. After World War I, he returned to Toronto where he continued to practice cosmetic surgery. This more or less became the only surgery that he performed. He is literally considered the father of cosmetic surgery in Canada.
Something that is great about cosmetic surgery in Canada is the fact that the price is reasonable. When you compare the price of cosmetic surgery in Canada to the price of Cosmetic surgery in the U.S.A., there is a considerable difference in price. There is also a considerable difference in the amount of innovation that occurs. Canada is an innovator in finding the safest and most effective methods in cosmetic surgery. When they do this, they are also able to find some of the most cost-effective methods available. Cosmetic surgery in Canada continues to become cheaper and cheaper.
Cosmetic surgery in the U.S.A.
It has already been mentioned that cosmetic surgery in the U.S.A is more expensive than in Canada. Healthcare all together is more expensive in the U.S. than in many countries around the world. That is why a Canadian will not be caught entering the United States without some sort of travel health insurance to ensure that they will not be stuck with large medical bills.
Cosmetic surgery is no exception. A person literally has to spend their life savings to have cosmetic surgery. They only way to really be able to afford cosmetic surgery is if you're married to the doctor or a celebrity. There are some procedures such as Botox that are becoming more affordable. A Botox treatment will cost around $200 for four pricks of the needle.
There are also some risky practices happening within the United States. This is because some who do such procedures as Botox injections do not properly dilute the toxin. This has created safety concerns in the United States for those looking to defy the effects of aging. That is why it is always good to see a reputable cosmetic surgeon. Research is needed to ensure there have not been any "mishaps" during surgeries and procedures. Actually, this should be carried out no matter what country you live in. You must do that so you know what you're getting into.
Health insurance
It doesn't matter which country you reside in, cosmetic surgery is not covered by health insurance. It is an out-of-pocket expense for everyone. That is why it is important that it is affordable. Although aging is a natural process, too many people are ridiculed by others about their aging. People now want to combat it more than ever. It doesn't make them live longer. It just makes them feel better about themselves, which can then translate into a few years added onto their life. All it takes is a positive attitude.

CPR Certification Courses: Be a Real Lifesaver
Learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation, more commonly known as CPR, is a worthy enterprise. The technique has been known to save lives and in some cases, was the only thing standing between a victim of heart failure and certain death.
That said, well meaning individuals who are interested in learning CPR could very confused as to the best place to obtain proper CPR training.
Although volunteer facilities or civic organizations are okay places to learn about CPR, there is a greater benefit to taking an accredited CPR course. You don't have to be a paramedic or EMT to sign up for such a class, in fact, everybody can, and should consider CPR accreditation.
What are the advantages?
Getting it done right
If you find yourself in a situation where CPR will be employed, you want to do it right. Volunteers at clubhouses, with the best of intentions, could very well be unaware of proper procedure. This is not to say that the courses offered at certain organizations have no merit, rather, there is a difference in quality. For example, a person can learn to dogpaddle but it always better to learn how to swim.
You'll be certified
Although you won't be able to call yourself a medical professional, you will be certified to perform the procedure. This can end up being a very important distinction in a life threatening situation. A certification can reap psychological benefits for the student as well, giving you the confidence to perform CPR. Confidence is just as important as knowledge of the technique itself, as someone who is unsure could botch the resuscitation attempt.
You can really learn the CPR technique
Being able to take time and really study cardiopulmonary resuscitation will give you a real handle on what it can and cannot do. You'll also obtain a more in depth understand of what CPR is and how it affects the heart. Knowing how the technique saves lives can be very important as it gives you can greater appreciation of what you are learning.
It looks good on resumes
People who go the extra mile in any endeavor are often admired, especially by potential employers. It never hurts to display a civic minded side to companies as they will look at you as a great potential asset. In other words, by doing something that will aid others, you can also, inadvertently, help yourself.
Ability to help loved ones
Statistically speaking, you'll more than likely help someone close to you with CPR than a stranger. In the US alone 3 out of 4 heart arrests and failures occur in the family home. This means that you will most likely be using CPR on a family member or acquaintance. Wouldn't you like to know that you are more than capable of helping a loved one in distress if the need arose.
You won't hurt anyone
Improperly applied CPR can potentially harm people. Some individuals who had CPR performed on them even experienced broken ribs. While this can occur even with a properly applied CPR procedure, the chances are heightened if an individual doesn't understand how to apply the appropriate pressure on the chest.
Yes, it may cost a few dollars to learn CPR via an accredited course; however, it could cost a lot more in the long run if you don't know how to properly employ the procedure.
If you wish to learn CPR, check into local accredited training courses in your area. By taking this extra step to aid your fellow man, you can rest assured that you will be more capable to render aid should you ever find yourself in an emergency situation.

11 Reasons Why Healthy Breathing is Essential
To achieve the correct breathing technique, ensure that it is deep, maximizing on oxygen intake. It is important to ensure that the diaphragm does the work. A simple test is putting one hand on the belly and the other on the chest. With every inhalation, the hand on the belly should rise higher than the on the chest.
When practicing healthy breathing many people rarely notice the changes in the physical health of the body. One of the easiest methods of alternative healing is healthy breathing and breathing exercises.
1) Healthy breathing increases the oxygenation of blood and efficient removal of toxins from the circulation system.
2) Healthy breathing facilitates digestion and effective assimilation of ingested food. Digestive organs like the stomach receive much more oxygen and operate optimally.
3) The nervous system receives a health boost. The central nervous system is the body's primary communication channel. If it is healthy, the entire body manifests this.
4) Not many people realize the effect of healthy breathing on the glands, primarily the pineal and pituitary glands.
5) The brain needs plenty of oxygen to be happy. Quantitatively, it requires three times more oxygen than the rest of the body.
6) Sufficient oxygen leads to smooth skin with a natural sheen.
7) Deep breathing exercises the diaphragm, giving the small intestine, the stomach, pancreas and liver a soothing massage.
8) The heart also gets this treatment, stimulation blood circulation in all the organs stated.
9) Healthy powerful lungs are the result of healthy breathing. Having this goes a long way in protection against respiratory problems like bronchitis.
10) When the breathing process is slow and deep during yoga, it reduces the workload the heart faces. This happens twofold. First, there is greater contact between lungs and the blood, increasing the surface area of operation. Secondly, there is a distinct pressure differential in the lungs. The increased circulation allows the heart a bit of a rest bite. The heart attains greater strength and operates at an optimum level. Blood pressure and related heart diseases reduce as a result of this cardiac efficiency.
11) Healthy breathing is often about more than just physical health. At the heart of meditation is healthy breathing. When the mind focuses on the breaths and breathing exercises it often escapes from the stresses of life.
Health experts know the impact of healthy breathing on relaxation of both body and mind. Breathing that is slow, deep and rhythmic causes reflex stimulation of the body's parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The result is reduced heart rate as well as relaxed muscles. The interdependence of mind and body mean that the relaxation of the PNS directly leads to relaxation of the body. Adequate oxygenation of the brain normalizes its function and significantly reduces anxiety levels.
Healthy breathing should always be practiced in a quiet and calm atmosphere. As the methods of deep breathing and healthy breathing are mastered, one may find themselves breathing more deeply on a regular basis without every thinking twice about the benefit to the body.

Essential Ingredients For Healthy Cooking
Healthy eating does not denote a diet strictly made up of salads; it just means that your favorite meals are prepared with more care to calorie and fat, as well as other harmful ingredients among them.
Reduce the Fat
Non-stick cookware is also a way of cooking healthy, as it negates the need for using cooking oil. Valuable nutrients are also maintained by boiling, steaming, braising, baking and microwaving foods.
Taking the Fat Out of the Cow
The choice of reduced dairy fats products and lean meats minimizes hidden fats within these food groups, which can also be found in varying amounts in processed foods. Dietary fats are best found in natural, unrefined form in foods such as avocado, olives, soy, fish, seeds and fish. If fats are used in the cooking process, use, to a bare minimum, mono-saturated oils, like canola and olive oils.
Shopping for Healthy Eats
Healthy cooking begins when shopping at the store and as such, the choices made reflect upon the results. Skinless chicken breasts are a wise choice, as is lean meat cuts. Make sure to look for foods with low fat versions, such as gravies, salad dressings, yoghurt, cheese and milk.
Start With Healthy Ingredients
Other tips on healthy cooking include consuming more fish, rich in protein and omega three acids, while being short on fats. As a matter of course, consume fresh legumes and vegetables and desist from adding too much salt while cooking. Recipes that require animal fat sautéing and deep frying should be eliminated, as well as those that need butter in their preparation.
Lighten the Lunch Meal
Suggestions for healthy sandwiches include using reduced salt wholegrain or whole meal bread, use very little or no cream cheese or butter on the bread, use instead avocado, low fat peanut or cheese spreads. Herbs have been known to replace oil and salt flavors, as well as containing phyto-oestrogens, which are health protective. They can be used to augment meat dishes, as well as drinks, desserts, vinegars, salad dressings, mustards, breads, and soups. Great herbs are such as lemongrass, chili, garlic, ginger, and coriander.
Cooking Healthy for a Healthy Body
To reduce the loss of vitamins in vegetables during cooking and preparation, scrub them clean rather than peeling, as nutrients are close to their the skin. Vegetables that are stir-fried retain their nutrients through their crunchiness, as they are not overcooked.
Finally, if it looks good, it probably is. Presentation will increase enjoyment, just as great taste will. Many higher end restaurants will use presentation to increase the visual size of the portion and to make the meal appear more intricate than it really is.
The key to the healthiest of cooking is at the beginning of the recipe. By choosing the best ingredients and the best cooking methods for your body, you are choosing a healthier lifestyle. Alternative medicine and treatments begin with treating the body with respect and honor and that begins with offering healthy foods as a source of daily energy.

Could Hidden Food Allergies Be Causing Your Migraines???
Today we're going to talk about hidden food allergies.
The first thing that it is important to understand is that there are different types of reactions to foods that we are allergic to. The most commonly understood and easily detected reaction is called a type 1 reaction or IgE reaction. With this type of reaction it is very easy to detect an allergy to a particular food. The symptoms of a Type 1 reaction are swelling of the throat, hives and an anaphylaxis type of reaction, a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic response. We are not focusing on that today because these allergies are very easily detected.
The type of allergy I want to talk to you about would more likely fall into the category of food sensitivities which are the result of an entirely different immuno/ biological process altogether. One that instead of being an immediate reaction may take hours or even days to actually become apparent. This is one of the reasons that most people have trouble recognizing the relationship between the symptoms that they are experiencing with something that they ate days prior (type 3 or type 4 reactions), even though type 3 and type 4 reactions are much more common. In fact only 5 percent of the population is affected by the type 1 so that means that most are affected by the type 3 or 4 allergy which is the "hidden" type.
How do you recognize whether or not you or someone you know could be experiencing a type 3 or 4 sensitivity or allergic reaction?
The most common way of diagnosing such sensitivities is to undergo an elimination process where diet is severely restricted and then one by one foods are reintroduced into the diet (usually one food per week). This can take months or even years to complete!!! Until now this has been the "Gold Standard"! The news I am about to share with you is LIFE CHANGING!!! Say goodbye to the old gold standard because now there is a very simple in home test which will detect hidden food allergies!
I know of a woman who suffered migraines for 18 years. She had been through test after test week after week and the doctors kept saying "there is nothing wrong" as they proceeded to prescribe another medication for her migraines. She spent thousands on these tests; in fact one of them cost her $1,200.00! After much arm twisting she took the in home test (for $99.00) and viola!!! The in home test revealed that she was allergic to foods in the mustard family. She is proceeding with the recommended protocol and I am happy to report NO MORE MIGRAINES! Another woman suffered from severe eczema for most of her life. There were times when she was house ridden for the better part of a week. After taking the in home test, she found out she was allergic to dairy. She is now on her way to living a normal life.
Now I am not a doctor nor am I saying that we "cured them". In fact that would be a felony (Thank you FDA). We simply detected the allergy and gave them the gastrointestinal support they needed to heal. Typically once the GI tract has healed itself; it has been found that the food can then be reintroduced with no further reactions!
The strange thing is that this type of test has been used by physicians for years with amazing success but it isn't promoted widely. This is because most doctors tend to focus on Type 1 allergies instead of the other 2.
Let's look at food allergies and sensitivities a little closer; shall we? In a typical type 1 the food antigens can trigger the mast cell mechanism at any point in their journey through the body. Lip, tongue, throat burning and swelling are most obvious symptoms of this. The antigen may not react in gastro intestinal tract but activate Type 1 responses in blood or target organs, especially lungs and connective tissue. The onset of "immediate reactions" may be delayed hours after eating offending foods. Major symptoms include: flushing, swelling, shortness of breath, fast heart rate, panic, pain, and confusion.
What happens when dealing with a type 3 or 4 reaction (hidden sensitivity) is quite different. In this type of reaction the antibodies bind directly to the food particles themselves as they enter the blood stream. Then they form different sizes of circulating immune complex. This complex is comprised of the allergens and the antibodies that reacted to it becoming bound together and then circulating in the blood stream. It is important to understand that in this case there is a delayed reaction of symptoms not seen with the Type 1 reaction. Also unlike Type 1 reactions, type 3 and 4 are usually from a food that you eat OFTEN and even CRAVE. In fact cravings are common as are withdrawal symptoms. The numbers here are huge! It is thought that nearly 60 to 80 million Americans suffer from this type of reaction.
What are the symptoms of type 3 & 4 reactions?
There are hundreds of them! (Hold on to your chair.) You know someone who is affected by this. Tinnitus, recurrent ear infections, asthma, dark circles under the eyes (allergic shiners also seen in children reacting to vaccines), chronic digestive problems (diarrhea, constipation and heartburn), spastic colon, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel, fluctuations in blood sugar, joint and muscle pain, fluid retention, brain fog and or mental confusion, irritability, eczema and many others. In fact studies have shown that even (temporary) changes in your voice or hoarseness can take place as the result of these reactions! The good news is that they are reversible but a skin test will not detect their presence.
How do we end up with these reactions or sensitivities? Lack of breast feeding is one culprit. When breast feeding became unpopular asthma became epidemic. This is largely due to an immunoglobulin deficiency, as human immunoglobulin is not contained in cow's milk. Food sensitivities of all types are far more prominent in babies who were not breast fed. Let's think about that
When a baby is born it is meant for that baby to have mommy's breast milk. The intestine is somewhat porous. All of the foods going through the intestine are being exposed to the blood stream in a way does not take place after weaning, when porous elements of the intestine gradually begin to close. The food that passes through the intestine from that point forward is not directly exposed to the blood as it would be in earlier years. In fact many people who have wheat allergies were fed wheat based formulas when they were infants!! It is also important to note that when genetically modified soy was introduced into the UK, soy allergies skyrocketed by 50 percent and I suspect that many other GMOs are causing allergic reactions among the unsuspecting populace at large. See the GMO Trilogy for more information on the devastating effects of genetically modified food.
If you sit back and think or better yet, keep a mental note of this article, I am sure you will encounter someone you know who meets the criteria or has the symptoms mentioned above. I STRONGLY encourage you to let them see this information because it just might CHANGE THEIR LIFE! Stay tuned for next weeks' "Custom Health 4 You News" Hidden Food Allergies Part 2.
Until then
Yours in health and wellness!

Surgery May Not Be the Best Method For Treating Back Pain
When people experience chronic lower back pain, usually the first thing they do is consult with their family doctor or a chiropractor. Your family doctor acts as the quarterback for your chronic back pain treatment. Your doctor has a very good understanding of back problems but not a detailed approach like a specialist will have. If you come to your family physician with chronic back pain that persists for a while, then the first thing he will usually do to try and help you deal with the pain is prescribe pain killers for you. These are pills such as loratabs that can help you deal with the pain but are really not a very effective long term chronic back pain treatment.
At one time if someone was being tormented by back pain their chiropractor would usually recommend that a surgical procedure be performed to repair the problem. Following the surgery, the person would typically be put on bed rest for a couple of weeks, and then, if everything goes well, their back would be improved - unless it wasn't. In the past, many physicians are in agreement, there was ill-advised back surgery being performed. Most people weren't any healthier after the operation, and a lot were in worse condition than they had been previous to the operation.
Presently, reports have demonstrated that many spinal disorders, even lower back pain, will resolve itself without an operation, given rest and time. In fact, for most spinal injuries, all other alternatives should be considered subsequent to scheduling an operation on the back. Fewer than one percent of all back pain sufferers ever actually are in need of a surgical procedure for their back pain, nevertheless, four out of every five patients have back soreness at some time in their life.
Who Needs A Back Operation?
Usually, chiropractors suggest that an operation should only be an alternative if other procedures have been tried and were not effective in treating the back pain (or if the pain comes back), the pain is notably affecting a patient's daily activities, or if left alone the back condition could deteriorate into a more serious state.
Non-Surgical Treatments
Physical rehabilitation can be an excellent way to aid the back and spine in its healing process. Along with specific workout regimines, often the physical therapist will implement additional processes, such as heat or cold therapy which eases swelling and pain and muscle spasms, ultrasounds which employ sound waves to heal and promote circulation while at the same time alleviating swelling, tenderness and muscle spasms, massage, spinal traction, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) which uses a painless electrical current on particular nerves to alleviate soreness and increase movement of the back, and water therapy.
Some people find improvement by using medication to relieve their back pain. There are numerous types, some non-prescription and others that require a prescription. They include muscle relaxants, analgesics and NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). In a significant way, they can be able to alleviate you of that mild to moderate pain that you may be feeling.

Overcoming Embarrassing Moments During Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon hydrotherapy is a form of cleansing. The popularity of cleansing the colon is growing by leaps and bounds and often the only thing holding the patient of alternative medicine back from using the colon hydrotherapy to heal the body is the embarrassment associated with the process of cleansing.
The thought of having tubes inserted into your rectum drawing out hordes of dirt is in itself a source of embarrassment. The actual experience is even worse since it may last a whole hour for a single session. However, one need not worry in the hands of a qualified colon hydro therapist; they can find sufficient tips to overcome embarrassment.
Developing tactics to overcome embarrassment is made simpler when one focuses on what they find most embarrassing during the process. For some, it may be about having to expose their bodies; others may feel quite embarrassed by the sheer amount of dirt that is in their body. Yet others feel that going to consult a colon hydro therapist is enough evidence that they are not doing what they should be doing; emptying their bowels on a regular basis.
Thinking Healthy Thoughts
For starters, one of the greatest motivators is the health benefits that one is likely to enjoy after the process. This calls for focus to be directed to the end result rather than the process. The aftermath of colon hydrotherapy is very enticing as one is able to digest their food better, they will also feel a new release of energy with better concentration.
Escaping Painful Bowel Movements
Another perspective that will ease one's embarrassment is the comparison that one can make between the humiliation they go through during colon hydrotherapy vis a vis their constantly rumbling stomachs. The terrible stench that emanates from one's visit to the toilet, the foul smelling fumes that may escape one's bowels may easily isolate someone in addition to destabilizing their daily schedule. For some people, the thought of going to the toilet brings with it much pain because excreting is a painful process.
Self Esteem Issues
For people who feel they cannot bear exposing their bodies for long periods, they need not worry since most colon hydro therapists now allow patients to keep their clothes on during the entire process. They also ensure complete privacy for the client.
Losing Weight as a Positive Thought
While the health related benefits of colon hydrotherapy are clear, there is also some weight that can be shed after the process is complete. There have been people who have lost up to 25 pounds after the cleansing procedure. That, alone, is enough to stave off any concerns regarding the embarrassing aspects of the procedure.
Finally, one may have to focus on other issues during this therapy. This will keep any feelings of shame out of their minds. They can also take refuge from the fact that most people have to undertake colon hydrotherapy at one point or the other. They can adjust the timing and frequency of the sessions to reduce the extent of their mortification.

Cancer, Diet and Global Warming With the Producer of Healing Cancer From the Inside Out
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Renegade Roundtable, which can be found at http://www.RenegadeRoundtable.com. In this excerpt, Mike Anderson shares on cancer, diet and global warming.
Renegade Water Secrets with Mike Anderson, is a medical researcher, author of The Rave Diet and film maker/producer of "Eating" and "Healing Cancer from the Inside Out."
Kevin: So, Mike. If all this stuff isn't working, what is?
Mike: Food. I site some studies in the film... the Office of Technology Assessment funded the Gerson Therapy. It beat the pants off conventional treatments. This was in different stages of melanoma. It just beat the pants off of conventional treatments. They don't like these studies. They don't want to fund them. It's very hard.
Macrobiotics went in front of the NIH, National Institute of Health and they tried to get funding because they presented six terminal cases, cancer cases, where the cancers were totally reversed. They were all biopsied and they were all confirmed and everything. Now, wouldn't you think that people should be interested in this? That they should fund more studies? No, they can't get any money for anymore funding for any.
You know allopathic medicine doesn't, their history is to shut down any nutritional approach because they are so threatened by it. Even, this was around the turn of the century, 2001 or so. It's on the website, the Sushi Institute. Anyway, they're totally threatened because it does work. It is more effective. Instead of destroying the body, you're trying to build it up.
I specifically included Macrobiotics because they have a long history, 100- year history. In fact, the founder of Macrobiotics reversed cancer. But they have a long history of reversing cancers. So I look at Macrobiotics and that's almost 100% cooked. Then I look at raw, and that's 100% raw, uncooked. And I think the bottom line here is that, the common ground is that they are all plant-based, 100% plant-based. They are all organic. Organic is very, very important because organic food is much higher in micronutrients, the anti-oxidant families. Those are the ones that are going to fight cancer effectively. It's a whole-foods organic diet and that's it. Whether it's raw or whether it's cooked is partly personal preference, in terms of case and stuff.
Kevin: You knew that this film was going to cause some waves. So, one, how did you prepare for it? Two, what kind of feedback have you gotten from people who were not happy?
Mike: I actually did not prepare very much for it. What I did was try and make it as credible as I can and close the loop on all the arguments. To make it as tight as possible. I'll tell you a story. I don't know if Brian Clement wants me to tell this or not, he was interviewed in the film, but he and his wife watched it for seven hours, seven hours looking for a loophole. They were primarily looking at some angle conventional doctors could use to attack me and they couldn't find it. So my approach was just make it as tight as possible and as credible as possible. As a result of that, I haven't had much negative feedback except that people don't want to talk to me.
I have been on KPFK, they are a nonprofit, local station here in L.A. I've been on there and they were very receptive and so was the audience. I mean, people are hungry for this new. But getting it out there is very, very difficult.
People will say, "Oh, my gosh. You should be on major news shows," and stuff like that. And I say, "Well, have you looked at the sponsors of those news shows? They'll never have me on." You know, you've got meat and dairy and drugs and I'm preaching against all of those. So, it's difficult to get it out, but word of mouth is extraordinarily strong; it's pushing this whole thing. And thanks to shows like your and others, more and more people are getting on the bandwagon.
I was at the Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona this weekend and I had a lady and her husband come out, specifically to see me. They flew out from Tampa. And it was because they saw "Healing Cancer" a month ago. Her father started off with colon cancer, it spread to his liver, now it's in his lungs. He's had one round of chemo; he couldn't take it anymore. So they were looking for something. They put him on the diet and within a month all of his cancer markers had dropped dramatically. They were just thrilled by the whole thing. They wanted to fly out and just thank me because of it.
The strange thing is most people they have it in their mind that cancer is this dreaded disease that kills people. Well, you know, cardio vascular disease kills over twice as many people a cancer, that's a pretty scary disease. But people have it in their minds that cancer is more scary, but it's not. It can be controlled through food. People have this idea that, well, gee, cancer's a dangerous disease you need strong medicine. You need something that will make people's hair fall out and make them throw up all day for days on end and make them just sick. That's strong medicine. You need just the opposite. You need something that's going to build up the body. People, if they'll get off this toxic diet they're on and get on a good diet, they'll see miraculous things happening. Not just with cancer, but the whole body will be healing.
Kevin: Let's talk a little bit about the Rave diet. There's a lot of people who are on this call who don't know what that is. So, let's give a little bit of information on that and...
Mike: OK. I wrote the book primarily because people were asking me for something to accompany the "Eating" DVD. Because after they see the "Eating" DVD, they'll say, "OK, I'm ready to change my diet, but what do I do?" And even though I list, at the end of the film, all kinds of books, and on the website even more, they wanted something from me. So, I put it together primarily as a very short, it reads very easily, very short guide, if you will, to how to change to this diet.
I have a transitional diet, too, because sometimes it's difficult for people to go on the full Rave diet. So I have an easier transitional diet so they can evolve into it. One guy, for example, it was too much for him because he had been eating processed foods all of his life and he had horrendous gas because of all the fiber. So I tell people, "Ease up on it. You can go slowly," you know, unless you have some terrible disease you're fighting. But what it stands for, Rave is an acronym, it means no refined foods. The A is no animal foods, the V, which gets me in trouble with most people all the time, means no vegetable oils; the E means no exceptions and exercise. There are a number of sub-rules within that. It's not just that acronym alone. Like, eat at least half of your food uncooked type of thing. Also ingredients lists, it's got a whole explanation of how to read ingredient lists and so forth. But it's done very well.
Kevin: No oil. Let's talk about that.
Mike: OK. I got this primarily, started out if you look at Ornish, Essylstyn, Furman, a lot of doctors who actually reversed heart disease and have studies to prove it; they all specifically exclude vegetable oils. There are clinical studies, it tears up the arteries. Essylstyn says it's as good for your arteries as roast beef. If you look at nutrient scales, the key to a good diet is getting the maximum amount of nutrients per calorie that you can. If you look at vegetable oils, they have the lowest nutrient value of any food on the planet. It's all fat, very few nutrient values per calorie on it.
It's a refined food, on top of it; the molecules in vegetable oils are unstable. They produce free radicals. It's a promoter of some cancers, particularly skin cancers, and on and on and on. So, I just say there are substitutes for it. If you're cooking and you want to brown potatoes or something, use applesauce or apple juice or vegetable broth or something. You have to cook it slower, but it browns just as good. So, that's the schtook on vegetable oils. I'm telling people in the beginning with this, "Hey, you get on this you can reverse your heart disease." I'm not going to go against all the doctors who have proven successfully
through tests that you can reverse heart disease. They all exclude the vegetable oils.
Kevin: Yeah, I think it makes sense to follow the research of people that you have mentioned, like Furman and Essylstyn and these guys, instead of recreating the wheel on a theory.
Mike: Right, right. I have to follow; these guys are my heroes. I can't challenge them and I want to, if someone comes out with a study of heart disease reversal which specifically includes vegetable oils, then I'll take a second look at it, as will they. But so far that hasn't happened.
Kevin: Who do you think you've learned the most from?
Mike: Geez, I don't know. That's hard. Everyone's saying the same thing, essentially, in different ways and they're doing their own thing. In the beginning, there were John Robbins, the emotional aspect of it, environmental, in particular. He was huge. McDougall, he was huge, too. He was giving all this reinforcement to the health. Then, of course, Fuhrman and Ornish and a number of others, Esselston. I would say probably McDougall and, in the very beginning, McDougall and John Robbins.
Kevin: Great. You mentioned global warming, again, and I think we should probably talk about that because it was an added portion of the film, "Eating." What are some of the implications of the way we eat, as related to global warming and the environment?
Mike: It's methane, that's the major thing that's been overlooked. I'm no expert in it, but what I did was summarize what the experts have said. It's hard for people to visualize this, but there are hundreds of millions of cows, and other livestock out there, that emit methane, both through the mouths and their rear ends. It goes into the atmosphere and methane is a powerful heat-trapper, much more powerful than carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide will stay in the atmosphere much longer, but methane really traps heat. Studies have shown that, in fact, methane has caused nearly half of the global warming to-date. The number one source of methane is the animals we raise and eventually eat. So, the good thing about methane is that it only stays in the atmosphere for eight years. If people would cut back on their consumption of animal products, you could recycle out very quickly. There could be a more immediate impact on global warming, on cooling. That's not going to happen, but, say, everyone in the world cut back 1/3 of their meat consumption and reduced the livestock accordingly. That could have a major impact on global warming, and quite soon. Whereas carbon dioxide that stays in the atmosphere for so long. It's not going to have such an immediate impact on it and that's what we need is an immediate impact, because we're right there, as they call the tipping point.

Making of the Film, Eating
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Renegade Roundtable, which can be found at http://www.RenegadeRoundtable.com. In this excerpt, Mike Anderson share the journey that has led him to make the amazing film "Eating."
Renegade Water Secrets with Mike Anderson, is a medical researcher, author of The Rave Diet and film maker/producer of "Eating" and "Healing Cancer from the Inside Out."
Kevin: I am really thrilled about having you because this is just a completely different take on the normal-type calls that we have. Normally we do diet advice, and we'll talk about the Rave diet, but the film making side of this is just so fascinating and there's so many things I want to cover, and our readers want to cover as well, so I 'm just really thrilled to get moving on this.
Mike: OK.
Kevin: What I'd like to do first, there are a bunch of people on this call who probably don't know who you are, so why don't you give a brief introduction, just explain who you are and then we'll get right into the questions.
Mike: OK. Briefly, what happened to me, I was a... my background is in computers. In fact in the 80s I developed the navigational system in your car, made it possible, and I have owned and sold a couple of computer companies and I was a high-flying executive. And what happened was I got burnt out and I just quit everything. I was on the board of directors, I quit everything. I wanted to slow down the world. And what happened, I had no interest in nutrition, what that gave me was the luxury of time to read books I would never have read before.
I stumbled across this and I read a few books and I said, "My God, you can reverse heart disease just by simple changes in diet?" And I thought, "Why don't I know that?" I was in my mid 50s at that point. And so I thought this should be headline news and I looked around and the books were out there but the knowledge base wasn't, people just were not
informed. So I thought I would make a little contribution to help spread the word. And so I spent about two years researching the thing and another year putting together the film "Eating." And that's how this all began. And now it's kind of taken on a life of its own.
Kevin: How did you go from you know computers to film making? It doesn't seem like a direct sort of path.
Mike: No it wasn't. I had made two fifteen-minute films before, kind of educational films...
Kevin: OK.
Mike: And so I had the tools available and quite honestly, the film, the videography and stuff are not the best to this day but it turned out to be very compelling and I just kind of went with my gut and put it together. And quite honestly when I finished it I thought well maybe if I could get 1500 copies of these out, maybe I could change 1500 lives, and that was the whole point.
Kevin: You've gotten more than 1500 out.
Mike: Oh yeah, yeah. It's been seen by millions of people, tens of millions of people at this point. It got to the Minister of Health in Ghana, the nation of Ghana in Africa, West Africa, and then it got up to the President, and they liked it so much they aired it on their national television and afterwards the President got on and said, "We will never adopt the American way of eating." And this was after it had been shown to all the Ghanians. And the reason is because these third world nations, if you'll excuse the phrase, they're afraid of our diet, they know it's going to bankrupt their countries because of the medical costs that such a diet would bring in and so they are really urging people to stick to their traditional diets, a whole, plant- base diet primarily, and avoid the western ways because it would bankrupt them.
Kevin: I never knew that. So what about the film "Eating," how did you go about researching this in order to make it a compelling argument that wouldn't be, I mean that didn't have holes in it? As a researcher that seems to be the most important thing that you could do. So how did you go about doing that?
Mike: Well I you know I had read all the vegetarian authors -- John Robins, Howard Lyman, McDougall, Ornish, Essylstyn a whole host of people and probably a hundred books and a thousand articles. And also I focused in on...you know, I'm from the mainstream then and still am, and I focused in on what people would say to me, because they saw changes in me. I lost 35 pounds and I would tell them the diet I'm on and all the
objections. When you get into social situations people have objections -- "Oh what about protein?" That's the biggest one, "What about potein?" "What about this, what about that..." And so I tried to answer all of those concerns in this, so they wouldn't have an argument to come back at me with, so it would be very compelling.
Kevin: What do you think was the most shocking thing that you discovered while researching for that period?
Mike: What really got me on this was, like I say you can reverse heart disease with simple changes of diet, in diet, and I am big with statistics and I know how difficult it is through correlation and stuff like that to prove a causal chain over say 20-30 years, which is what it takes most of these chronic diseases, like heart disease, it takes that long to develop. And you take someone like Neal Pinkey, who I interviewed in the film, and what he did, he was scheduled for emergency bypass operation because his widow-maker, the main artery, was all plugged up, the other two were all plugged up, and he was on the face of death. He turned away from that and simply changed his diet and eight months later he was in an marathon, an eight and a half-mile marathon. Now to me that is cause and effect, that's controlled. You know exactly what he did, this is not a 20-year time span this is 6 months it took him. And that was the real... it's kind of a reverse causation thing. That was real compelling to me because there is no argument what he did.
And same with Ornish and the other researchers, Essylstyn. You've got a very short time frame, and you've got the variables under control. He didn't do anything else but change his diet, he didn't quit smoking, he wasn't a smoker, he didn't do anything else but change his diet. And look at what happened, it's just unbelievable. So you get a lot of arguments
about causation and people will give you all kinds of nonsense about what causes heart disease. They're still arguing about it.
I look at the reverse side, let's look at reversing a disease and how long it takes and what are the variables you have under control. And that's what really got me onto this, because you know, I was stunned when I read about it. Geez, simple changes in diet. And it's happening with cancer now too. And you know, I mean adult onset diabetes, you can reverse it in a week, real severe cases, a couple weeks.
Kevin: Do you have any idea why there is so much confusion?
Mike: Politics, primarily. And there is also an emotional aspect to it. People love their meat. You know, the taste, and what Margaret Mead said, "Changing a man's religion is easy, changing his diet is harder." People like their meat, taste is a very personal thing, it's a very, very difficult thing to do. And what I have learned, because I have converted a lot of people and I have talked to a lot of people about it, some people will not get it, they just will not get it, their minds are so closed. And I won't even engage them in argument. I will say, "Fine" and move on to someone whose mind is a little more open because I only have a limited amount of time and they're just going to... they will live with the consequences of their diet and it will catch up with them eventually.
Kevin: Yeah, I've heard people say that before. At times, isn't it a little difficult to do that? Particularly if they're friends or family.
Mike: Right. It's not hard for me. It was in the beginning because I didn't have as much experience with it. But I've just found that some people will not change, no matter what and I'm going to move on. So be it. No, that's all right.
Kevin: OK. Now "Eating" is in its third version, correct?
Mike: Right, right.
Kevin: Was that a technical reason or was there more that you felt you needed to add to it?
Mike: Well, I updated it in certain respects. I added a global warming section on that. It has a section, the second edition had a section of factory farming. And some of the scenes were very brutal. I was showing the conditions of the animals and I deleted that because people were showing it to audiences and they were losing up to half of their audiences. I went to a showing at a hospital and they just, I put up a warning on the screen and say, "If you don't want to watch this, flip to the next section." They were flipping to the next section. And I wanted to at least, cover that section because it was very important, but I didn't want people to leave or make them totally uncomfortable. So, what I did was I deleted that section. I still cover factory farming but in a much more muted way, so that people will get through it; and I want them to get through it and also to the end. A lot of people will just turn it off at that section.
Also, I had accusations that once that is shown, "Oh, this is just some animal rights guy and he's put together all of these arguments but it's really for animal rights." Well, it is but it isn't. The main thing is health. I think that most people are selfish, they're going to say, "What's in it for me, this diet? And what can I do?" Very few people are going to change their diet as a result of animal rights concerns, maybe 5% or something of the audience, maybe, maybe less. So I took that out and now you can show the third edition to a church group. It has some uncomfortable scenes that will make people squeamish a little bit, but they're not going to turn it off; they're not going to walk out of the auditorium. That was the big difference. So, it plays to a wider audience because I was getting a lot of complaints about that.

How to Use Acupuncture to Reduce Stress
Daily Stress
Coping with stress is a major issue in our fast paced modern world. Stress is something that affects your entire body, and in many situations is good. As one of the body's defence mechanisms, stress is what gives us the focus and the energy to deal with challenging situations. If you are walking alone at night, and you think a robber is following you, your senses are heightened, your muscles are ready, and your mind focuses on the situation at hand. The stress that we feel today comes from many of these primitive emotions, but are converted into our modern day to day world of deadlines, relationships, money worries, etc. In the modern world, stressors can be more constant, causing long term stress which can have negative effects.
So if you feel 'stressed', it means that your worries, defence mechanisms, and other systems are overworking, which is a bad psychological place to be, and at the same time something which can negatively affect your health.
Alternative Ways To Deal With Stress
In Chinese medicine, stress is seen to block the flow of blood and energy in the body, causing stagnation. Acupuncture deals with this by stimulating the body's energy flows, countering tension and spreading relaxation. Chinese medicine sees the body as a series of paths (or meridians) through which energy (also known as qi) flows. When we are healthy, the energy flows smoothly from one part of the body to the other. Stress causes muscle to tense, which in turns blocks energy and makes us unhealthy. Those experiencing high levels of stress often have pain in their upper back, shoulders, and neck, the areas which tense when we are stressed.
When you see the body in this context you can start to see how acupuncture works to stop stress. Many are skeptical of acupuncture, as it seems like such a strange idea - sticking needles in people's backs to relieve pain and such - but in the context of energy flows it makes more sense.
Acupuncture is an ancient art, dating back possibly as far as 3000 BC, and has been a popular form of medicine in Asia throughout modern history. So it has been around for a long time, and tested through the generations. Today, there is also significant scientific literature on the efficacy of acupuncture. It is also a safe treatment, as long as it is done by an experienced practitioner.
Acupuncture And Stress
Acupuncture works by inserting a very thin needle into key points on the body which correspond to body organs. These needles then stimulate the flow of energy, breaking down musculature barriers and moving blood and energy to areas where it is needed (the conventional western notion of acupuncture focuses more on how the needles cause the brain to release endorphins, as well as increased blood flow). Thus energy flow returns to normal and both the body and mind can relax.
Acupuncture not only treats stress but also many other health conditions.

Infrared Saunas Benefits
Steam saunas have been around for centuries, but infrared saunas are a relatively new invention that blows them out the water. The list of infrared sauna benefits is huge and many people really enjoy the addition of this technology to their daily routines.
Infrared technology is unique in that it allows for light to heat the body and can be aimed at very targeted areas. There are even portable infrared saunas that make it possible to continue your routine while on the road for vacation or business.
Infrared Sauna Benefits
Here we will look at just a few of the most popular reasons people are using infrared saunas.
Safety. The heater in a steam sauna, as well as the steam, can be dangerous and it is quite possible to burn yourself. This poses a particular danger if you have children in the house. On the other hand, infrared saunas allow for a gentler heat and aren`t as likely to burn anyone.
Time. The amount of time you can stay in a sauna greatly depends on how much heat you can take. The average steam sauna is only bearable for up to 20 minutes, with many people unable to take more than 10. This means there is a limited amount of time to sweat and rid your body of toxins. The infrared sauna uses a gentler heat that penetrates about an inch and a half into the body, meaning greater benefits for a longer period of time.
Health Benefits. There are a huge number of health benefits that are a direct result of infrared saunas. In fact, you`ll find that the infrared heat can cure many skin issues like eczema and acne, get rid of candida, and even relieves pain in the joints, making infrared saunas pretty popular for these reasons.
Weight Loss. It`s no secret that saunas can help with weight loss. They do this in a variety of ways, breaking down toxins and fat cells and also by helping you sweat out excess water.
Stress Relief. Today`s average adult suffers a lot of stress. There are bills to pay, prices are ever climbing and it just gets to be too much. A relaxing sauna treatment allows people a little time off to sit with there with their thoughts, no laptops or cell phones allowed and they can feel better.
Energy. Thanks to the toxin releasing actions of a sauna, you`ll often have more energy afterwards. That, combined with weight loss makes for some added zip to your step and an extra bit of energy.
Better Skin. Not only does the infrared sauna help with curing many common skin ailments, it`s also great for giving you that healthy glow. Since you will be eliminating nasty toxins that tend to clog up pores and make sink look dull, you`ll find that after a few treatments with an infrared sauna, your skin will really be brighter and healthier looking.
Immunity. Did you know that infrared saunas can actually help boost your immune system? Getting rid of toxins and knocking out those bacteria that the immune system is normally fighting will allow your body to turn to things that really matter, invading viruses and bacteria.
Infrared saunas have proven their worth on the market and more and more people are finding that they enjoy using them and have also experienced many benefits and even cures for common problems like skin issues and yeast infections. Whether you use a public infrared or a home sauna version that you can install in your basement, infrared saunas have plenty of benefits that you won`t want to miss out on.

The Top Perfumes
Many women receive perfume for their birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, and any other holiday or special occasion. The perfume industry has been manufacturing new scents regularly with just this idea in mind. The vast number of perfumes available make finding the right one a hard choice.
What Are the Most Popular Perfumes From The Past?
Some of the top sellers over the past several years include Pure Poison by Christian Dior, Euphoria by Calvin Klein, Black Orchid by Tom Ford, Insolence by Guerlain, and Black by Robert Cavalli. These perfumes have all been manufactured in the last four years and are high end perfumes, meaning they are not cheap - to purchase or to wear.
There are several perfumes that were manufactured in the 1950s that are still popular today. Wind Song by Prince Matchabelli is one such perfume. Estee Lauder is still a popular brand that sells very well. Givenchy by Michel Hy is another. One unique point about perfume is once it is a hit with the public, it can remain a hit just by packaging it differently.
So we ask, what are the top Perfumes Today: The top selling perfumes today are not necessarily ones that were made this year or last. They may have been made several years ago. For example, one of the best selling fragrances today is Amor Amor by the Design House of Cacharel. However, this perfume was introduced in 2003. The fragrance is a mixture of fruits, floral, vanilla, and the smell of the aromatic woods.
The Design House of Paul Sebastian introduced Casual in 1995. This is still a best seller today. With the flowery smell of jasmine and roses, the scent is one of a kind. Even though it was made over 13 years ago, this is still a very popular perfume.
Introduced in 2000 by the Design House of Christian Dior, Jadore is a perfume that is recommended for wearing to the office. The fragrance is very feminine and is an intermingling of rose, orchids, blackberry musk, and violets.
Introduced by clothing designer Bill Blass, Nude Perfume was launched in 1990. This is a floral scent as well. This perfume is a mix of floral with mosses which is the one that should be worn for those romantic evenings.
Another of the top selling scents is Hanae Mori which was introduced by the design house of the same name. This perfume was first available in 1995 and has an Oriental, yet woody fragrance. The use of patchouli and sandalwood are what make it have the distinctive smell and this perfume can be worn anytime.
Perfume is not a new concept by any means. The first perfume in the U.S. was scented water. This has been a number one gift for many years. Ranking right up there with candy and flowers, perfume is one of the most received gifts for holidays, special occasions, and birthdays. This is the universal language known the world over for giving to that special lady who you either want to impress or want to have something that says you think she is very special.

Network Marketing Health Products
Hey Folks
Josh Boxer here with some information on do's and don'ts of network marketing health products.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to making your products stand out in the world of information bombardment. There are literally thousands of companies selling online health products through the network marketing or MLM pipeline. What will make people choose your health product over someone elses? And how do you go about selling your product either by relational commerce or online. Here are some tips.
1. When talking about your product, never bash your competition. It never makes you look good. You always want to take a positive approach to the marketing of your health products, especially in the network marketing world.
2. Find out what the problem or health issue is and then show how your health product can solve the problem. Don't go into all of the benefits on the front end, you want to find the need and fill it.
3. In network marketing your health product, don't be afraid to give out samples. We are a touchy feely world and people want to TRY before they BUY, it's a fact. When you give out a product, if possible, have your potential client try it on the spot. Ask questions and then go for the close. Most people are afraid to ask for the sale. You don't ask, people don't buy its that simple.
4. You want to have repeat business right? So always offer that extra personal touch. Let people know you appreciate their doing business with you. Send them a note in the mail telling them you appreciate them. Also, keep them in on the loop on the latest of your health products via email or through an auto-subscription or newsletter.
When selling online:
Make sure that you have done your homework on your competition. What makes your product superior to the competition. You had better have a stellar ad campaign to make sure you are at the top of the search engine queries. Always sell at retail and don't undersell your product.
Remember, People move products, its not the other way around. People have a need to belong. Its important that they guy at the top come down and help the guy just getting started and put the edification back on the new guys upline so that they will eventually listen to him. People dont want a boss as most already have one of those. People want mentorship and coaching.
In network marketing your health products, you want to get your product to the public by talking about it, using it everywhere you go. Try a trade show, use it at work. Live your product and your product will live in you. Dont get caught with the competitions product sliding down your throat. It will take credibility away from you and on to the other guys product.
Well, that is it for today.. Stay tuned for some more network marketing health tips
See you at the top,

Tea Tree Oil and Its Many Uses
Tea tree oil is an essential oil known for its medicinal properties. Native to the New South Wales, Australia steam distillation of the leaves of the tree Melaleuca alternifolia helps obtain tea tree oil. Among the 100 compounds contained in the oil terpinen-4-ol mainly accounts for most of the antimicrobial actions.
Tea tree oil is a clear to very yellow or green-tinged essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor. These leaves were earlier used as a substitute for tea, which is how the oil got its name.
One should not confuse Tea tree oil and Tea Oil (the seasoning and cooking oil obtained from pressed seeds of the plant Camellia oleifera).
Tea Tree oil was used in Australia as a potent antiseptic much before any scientific research. Tea Tree crushed leaves were used as traditional medicine by inhaling the oils treating cold and cough and also sprinkling them on wounds.
It was only after 1920's use of oil itself become popular. A series of research papers evaluating antimicrobial properties published by Arthur Penfold led to the popularity. The oil was extracted using mobile, makeshift, wood-fired bush still and plant material was hand cut on the spot. The demand was very high till World War II and ebbed after the war mainly due to development of effective antibiotics and interest in natural products. However, the interest in natural essential oils was rekindled in 1970s and 1980s and its demand has surged for uses in medicinal and cosmetic uses. Further studies in the recent time support the use of tea tree oil in skin care and various aliments.
Here are glimpses of the uses of this wondrous oil:
Tea Tree Oil Acne: A study done in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Department of Dermatology proved Tea Tree oil as very effective in treatment of moderate acne.
Inhaled tea tree oil helps breathing easier by "breaking up congestion". It can also minimize the symptoms of flu, cold, sore throat and systemic fungal infection.
Dandruff: Tea tree shampoo helped significantly reduce dandruff symptoms after 4 weeks of use. This was reveled in a study done on 126 people with mild to moderate dandruff. This is due to its ability to treat Malassezia furfur, the general common cause of the dandruff.
Athlete's Foot: A study to cure athlete's foot was done and 50% tea tree oil solution and placebo was used. After two daily applications for 4 weeks, tea tree oil was found to be significantly more effective than placebo.
Toenails and Fungal Infection: Another study found that 100% tea tree oil was as effective on toenail fungus infection as was the standard antifungal medication of 1% clotrimazole solution.
Tea tree oil is also effective against candidiasis and other vaginal infections.
It can also be used as a bath additive and also may control bacteria in spas and pools.
Tea Tree oil is also used in cosmetic products to make tea tree soap and shampoo.
It has also been used in treatments for eye aliment and blepharitis.
It is also used in toothpastes, mouth washes for curing bad breath and gum diseases.
It is also effective in treating minor wounds, insect bites soothe sunburn and ear infection.
Tea Tree oil diluted solution is also sold as to cure fungal and bacterial infection for pet fish.
These are just the few of its uses and the list surely goes on. Tea tree oil is a amazing gift from mother nature which we can put to a plethora of uses.

Can the Master Cleanse Increase Fertility and Fix Fertility Problems?
Information on the master cleanse diet and whether or not it can increase fertility. Can the master cleanse really fix fertility problems?
The master cleanse diet, also known by some other common names like the lemonade diet, the master cleanse fast and even the maple syrup diet, has had much publicity over the last few years at its claims to curing long-term health problems such as body toxicity, obesity, diabetes and even immune disorders. Many argue "for" and "against" these claims and the master cleanse fast has been a heated debate for many years.
Many claim the master cleanse can help a person lose weight up to 40 lbs. or more while others say it does very little to achieve this. Ultimately though, the master cleanse is used as a detox diet in which to help rid the body of disease.
Although this article isn't for or against the cleanse, I will discuss a few concepts that have been widely shared, argued and agreed upon in the way of the Master Cleanse and increased fertility. Can the master cleanse really fix fertility problems? Or is it just fad "hype" and a group of individuals who simply "want" to believe in its achievements. We will look at both sides of the arguement, starting with those against the cleanse.
Common concepts of those "against" using the Master Cleanse to increase fertility:
It has been highly argued between medical proffesionals, dieticians, and a number of others that the master cleanse is nothing more than snake oil. The master cleanse, according to some, is extreme and possibly dangerous with both long-term and short term side effects. In addition, it can also be argued that conventional medicine combined with good general health, diet and exercise are often a cure for many disorders, including infertility.
Common concpets of those "For" using the Master Cleanse to increase fertility:
The master cleanse diet, which many believe can help them flush their body of excess toxins, heavy metal and years of built up waste, can help create a healthier environment within the body to possibly induce fertility. Many believe (much like birth control) that the foods we eat are so highly ridden with hormones from the meat, dairy and other foods we eat, this could definitely cause fertility problems in which the master cleanse is said to cure. The idea is that we use the Master cleanse fast to literally "flush" the overabundance of unhealthy hormones from our bodies and regulate our natural cycles.
The master cleanse benefits are still highly argued to this day as you will find those extremely "for" and "against" the idea of the detox diet. While some believe it to be a master cleanse scam, others find it to make complete sense in the natural health world.
It is important that, whatever you decide, that you make careful considerations on your health both short-term and long-term. While other believe the master cleanse is dangerous, many believe that it is dangerous NOT to consider the master cleanse diet has a way to literally cleanse the body.

Aloe Vera For Children
Aloeride is becoming a popular product used for healing treatment of certain ailments. The question may arise whether Aloe vera, an extracted component of Aloeride, is suitable and safe for children? This is so because any product which is unsafe or have side effects can not achieve popularity and success even if it may have the ability to cure the diseases. And if children are concerned, the market value of the product diminishes even more exponentially.
But the good thing about Aloe vera is that there are no harmful side effects or any other negative consequences. It is well recommended by doctors and obstetricians. However some rumors regarding the use of Aloe vera in pregnant women and children also prevail in the society though it may not be true. One of the most important uses of Aloe vera is its use as an laxative, which is defined as a medicine that helps in making the bowels to get emptied easily and which is understandable for this mistake to be made by someone who has not looked into the products of aloe vera or the aloe vera plant itself.
Studying the Aloe vera plant reveals the fact that only a part of it can be used for medicinal purposes. We can again extract the Aloeride from the roots of Aloe vera plant and surprisingly the skin of the plant which contains a lot of laxative properties can not be used elsewhere. The technology used in the preparation of Aloeride provides the parents a feeling of trust about not to take tension regarding the harmful side effects of Aloe vera drug. Usually its products come in the form of syrups which can easily be taken by the minors. Original syrup has a bitter taste, so most of the companies dilute it with fruity juices which cover up the taste. However the aloe vera is diluted to where there is very little left to serve you any purpose. Adding additional flavors reduce the efficiency of Aloe vera on the body and the efficiency of its working also decreases. Also the reaction time may also increase a bit.
So, if you want to enjoy the complete benefits of Aloe vera, you should consume it in the form of a pill. Aloeride works from the inside out. So those little cuts and scrapes will stay just little cut and scrapes until they are gone. It will ensure the healing effects on injuries like scraped knees, cut fingers, burns, inflammations, and sunburns. Any one can use Aloe vera for children without any problem. it is one of the best medicines you can give to your children knowing that no harmful side effects are going to happen. You can then ensure a healthier life for your minors. The Aloe vera will take care of all those little sniffles and running noses the infants seem to have on regular basis. It will ensure a healthy life to you and your family for years. The Aloeride is not only beneficial to you as an adult, but will also help your child throughout those child hood years.

Feng Shui - Doors, Stairs, Entranceways & Pathways
Doors and stairs are the entranceways and pathways that do more than simply allow your guests to enter and move around the floors or into the doorway of your home. Both doors and stairs channel both your family, guests and loved one through your home and allow nourishing "qi" or vital energies to enter your abode or office. If an analogy can be made it's as if the front door is the "mouth" of your home. The internal doors of your home, corridors and stairway passageways help to keep the vital qi energies rushing, flowing and meandering smoothly, evenly and consistently. If anything can be summarized its to keep your doors aligned so that they swing gently open and close smoothly and evenly and are clear of furniture and other restraints and obstructions to clear pathways and paths.
It is more than vital and imperative that your front door is not directly opposite in line with the back door of your home or office. If this is the unfortunate case then the most vital qi energy will leave your welcome abode or office too early without having adequate and proper time to circulate and flow throughout the building.
Next watch out for aligned doors that are three in a row. Three aligned doors are considered very bad luck and a poor choice in light of the principles of Feng Shui. This is especially the case if and when two of the three of these aligned doors are specifically the front and back / rear doors themselves. In these cases of the three aligned doors you can lessen the damping effect on Feng Shui with the shielding effect of a screen, tall plant or beaded curtains, or even a simple pair or set of relatively ordinary drapes. If not then try hanging a crystal, wind chimes or a pair of bamboo flutes above the center door to draw up the negative sha qi energies dissipated.
Doors at the end of long corridors face the problems of fast moving qi. It's a situation of where the qi reaches a dead end at the end of the corridor, blocking off opportunities and good luck, a mirror hanging on the door may slow down the qi and work to open up and brighten the spaces or spaces.
Lastly never forget the important role and opportunity that the back door itself can play when it comes to Feng Shui. It can be said that the "back door" is so important and indeed vital in the art and science of Feng Shui as the back door can be said to represent the role of indirect opportunities and opportunities that may seem to just "come your way ""out of the blue". Be wise and thoughtful to give these extra and unplanned for opportunities easy and easiest access by having your back door opening to a wide rather than a narrow pavement. Again avoid having obstruction and clutter directly in the pathway of the door. For example if possible plan not to have an auto garage or even fence directly outside the back door. Keep the areas unobstructed and clear. Lastly large glass doors at the back of your home invite the qi energy and its harmony into your home and then allow the qi energy to flow, dissipate and leave as it pleases.

Strategies and Tips For Starting a Raw Food Lifestyle
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Renegade Roundtable, which can be found at http://www.RenegadeRoundtable.com. In this excerpt, Nomi Shannon shares on strategies and tips for starting a raw food lifestyle.
Renegade Water Secrets with Nomi Shannon, raw food chef and author of The Raw Gourmet and a new book, Raw Food Celebrations.
Kevin: Let's talk about raw and let's talk about percentages here, because there's a few questions about percentages. What's the difference between 70-90% raw and 100% raw?
Nomi: OK, yeah. There's actually a big difference between 70, 80% and 100%. Not to say that...I am a very middle-of-the-road raw-food person. Because I really believe, I've seen people go all just gung-ho, all raw and three weeks later, for whatever reason, they feel like a failure. Whether they just jumped into it too fast or can't handle the detoxification they think is there or whatever, really not good in the kitchen. So, they're almost like a rubber band, they bounce back and in three weeks or six weeks or two months they're back at whatever, McDonald's.
I'd honestly rather see someone just have 50% raw for the rest of their life than be a 100% raw for three weeks because that is going to make a profound difference. Now, I personally decided that 50% was like the tipping point. But, honestly, if there are people out there and they're eating 100% cooked food and they start eating 25% raw, that's better than 0% raw. I do think though that, and I think we all understand the phrase the tipping point, now, I do think that tipping point where you truly notice a difference in your health is going to be at 50%. I really think it's quite a rare person that's 100% for a really long period of time. And that's another thing, people beat themselves up. They go, "Oh, I was 100% for a year and then I ate a Rice Krispie and I felt like such a failure and so I stopped completely." I mean, that is really undesirable thinking.
So, if you want to be raw and you were trying to decide on a percentage, it's a really great idea for anyone who can to work their way up to 100% and stay at 100% for as long as they can. So, say three months, let's say six months, because that's going to give your maximum amount of sort of self-cleansing, especially if you include juicing, all right? And then settle somewhere where you're comfortable and where you're happy. It's not like philosophy or like religion. It's not like you're converting and you have to buy the whole package and the way you celebrate this religion in order to be accepted, this is really just the food you're eating. And once you allow yourself to get over the hump, there's even the question of people saying, "I hate the way greens taste." Or, "I don't like this or I don't like that. Literally your palate changes.
Most of us who are eating the standard American diet are addicted to the stuff they put in the food. It just tastes delicious. It takes a while for your palate to get used to simple greens, simple salad, plain almonds, that kind of thing. So you have to give yourself the chance to do that. If you are never a 100%, so what. But it would be good to be a 100% in the beginning, work up to it for as long as you can, because that is the ultimate, wonderful thing to do for yourself. If you are ill, again, if there are people listening that have a serious illness, whether it's obesity or blood pressure issues, or cholesterol issues or cancer, you would be very well advised to get yourself to a 100% level as soon as you can and stay there for as long as you can.
I personally know literally hundreds of people who feel that they've cured themselves of the incurable simply by eating raw food or taking wheat grass juice and that kind of thing.
Kevin: And you have seen it at Hippocrates.
Nomi: Yeah, that's one of the beauties of working in a place like that. You see it over and over and over and over.
Kevin: I think that's what makes what you say a little... it weighs it more than someone else who talks about this or that or this type of program or that type of program. Whereas you've been literally in the trenches seeing this happen, which is a lot different than reading the book and then talking about it.
Nomi: I've seen it happen a thousand different ways with a thousand different issues and I've experienced it myself. I wasn't looking at it when I was there as anything but a really profound experience for myself. But looking back I realized I have engaged in a lot of conversation. This was a wonderful program, really, really. First of all, the food is delicious and they really, really show you how to make your food when you get home. And literally every person, as they were walking out the door, was going, "Oh my god, what am I going to do when I get home?" And I'm sitting there going, "Are you kidding? They've just shown you everything." But some people are better in the kitchen than others. So I followed through with a lot of people.
And that is also where I learned what people want to know, and what then I based "The Raw Gourmet" on. I really knew what people wanted to know.
Kevin: Let's talk about some of "The Raw Gourmet" tips and information that you give in that book, because there are a lot of questions about prep. Let's start first with washing your vegetables. Let's talk about it. Not only washing them, where do you store them, how do you store them to keep them fresh for the longest and what's the best way to do that?
Nomi: Wow! I think there are a gazillion different ways to wash your veggies, there is no one right way. I used to use a product called Botanic Gold and I'm going to actually start to carry it. It's now called Enviro One. It's just made out of plant stuff, it's like soap. You dilute it very highly to soak your veggies in or to brush your teeth with, or clean the house there are different dilutions. And I really loved it and I actually haven't used it in a while and I miss it terribly. It's hard to say, other than to say it's a good idea to wash off your produce. You can't wash everything off non-organic produce. But you just have to do the best you can with that.
Storing it, the big thing about storing it is don't overbuy. Have a good refrigerator, if you have a 15 year old refrigerator you might want to start saving up for a new one, because the newer ones are more efficient. I go to many people's houses and they often don't utilize the drawers in their refrigerators well enough. But if you can't fit it all in the refrigerator from one shopping then you're buying more than you can eat before the food starts to go bad. It's unrealistic to think you are only going to shop one time a week for all your produce. You need to go out at least twice a week.

Where to Find Raw Food Recipes For Every Occasion
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Renegade Roundtable, which can be found at http://www.RenegadeRoundtable.com. In this excerpt, Nomi Shannon shares on The Raw Gourmet, Raw Food Celebrations and great raw food recipes.
Renegade Water Secrets with Nomi Shannon, raw food chef and author of The Raw Gourmet and a new book, Raw Food Celebrations.
Kevin: We could talk for hours. I wanted you to talk a little bit more about "The Raw Gourmet" and your new book and what someone can find in there, because it's a great book. It's great for people who want to do parties, who want to do themes and all that sort of stuff. And I think it's really missing in the palate of raw food cookbooks that are out there. This one is kind of needed. It kind of fits a pretty nice niche. So why don't you talk about that a little bit.
Nomi: All right, thanks. Well, you know, I think that the "Raw Food Celebrations" is the first book out that is specifically for celebrating. And what we did, Sheryl and I broke it down, so that if you wanted to have a theme, it doesn't have to you can pick a recipe from here or from there, it's broken down into I forget how many themes, seven or eight -- Italian, Thai...she did the Thai because she and her husband have been to Thailand many times and the food is incredible. She did stuff I never heard of, like [indecipherable] and stuff like that. And delicious coconut soup and stuff. Brunch, buffet, cocktail, if you just want to have a bunch of people over, and just sort of have hors dousers and drinks. You know, we have a few nice drinks in there. They don't have alcohol in them, but you could put alcohol in them, if you wanted to.
And what we did is we did a timeline, so it's like three weeks before the party dehydrate, cut up the red peppers and dehydrate them, because they'll keep forever, and then you toss them in or throw them on top of the soup. Five days before, four days before, three days before, the day of. And we tried and succeeded in most of the categories to have the amount of work you do on the actual day of your event, if you choose to make, there's probably seven to nine recipes in each grouping, and if you choose to do the whole thing like that, and have the event as we structured it, then we really made it so that you can plan a week ahead and on a Saturday or a Sunday have a nice event. Or you can just
pull out one recipe at a time.
And we worked very hard to make it. Like my lasagna recipe I showed a few of the sauces last, whatever day I did the food prep in Fort Bragg, I think it was Saturday, and I made three or four sauces in less than 45 minutes. And turned out they were all the sauces that go into the lasagna. But we start making them four days before. And then really what takes the time is assembling the lasagna, and you do that the day before. So it's a fun book for that, and it's a book for someone who is starting but they don't want to have like an energy soup concept, or for someone who's been making food for a while and would like to make a nice family meal or entertain their friends. It's absolutely structured so that you don't have to be raw to enjoy the food.
Kevin: That's great.
Nomi: And then "The Raw Gourmet" is your basic, this is the best first book to get, or one of the first books, and if you really, literally read it from cover to cover, you will know everything you need to know to have a raw food kitchen. I don't get into things like, you know, it's a food book, I do not get into deep things like healing and cleansing and all that because it's a food book. But it's everything you need to know about a raw food kitchen. We're actually going to reprint it, and someone asked a question about I used Braggs in the book. Well, I do use Braggs in that book because I didn't know it was a bad product at the time I wrote the book. I would substitute Braggs now for Nama Shoyu, which is a supposedly raw soy sauce, or maybe a little sea salt, or something salty like that.
And I'm thinking well maybe those people at my publisher can change every Braggs in the book to Nama Shoyu, but that's a big undertaking, so maybe that won't happen.
Kevin: Yeah. And where can someone go to get that book?
Nomi: The best place to get the book, I mean, yeah, you can get them at places like Barnes and Noble, or health food stores and stuff like that, but the best place is to get them from my site, rawgourmet.com, and the reason for that is I give a free booklet with each book. With the purchase of "The Raw Gourmet" you get a soup booklet, which is thirteen to fifteen raw soup recipes, and with "Raw Food Celebrations" you get a book called Raw But Not Naked, and it's a book of salad dressings.
Kevin: Wow, cool.
Nomi: And actually there's no other way to get those booklets. And they are, each booklet is worth seven dollars. I did that purposely because you have to pay for shipping and so it's a free gift, and it mitigates the cost of shipping plus. So, and then of course you're supporting the author, so that's always nice, too.
Kevin: That's great. And that's at www.rawgourmet.com.
Nomi: Right.
Kevin: Where is that on the site, right on the front page?
Nomi: The first thing you'll see is on the left, when you look at the products, there will be a picture of "The Raw Gourmet" and "Raw Food Celebrations." There's also lots of recipe at my site, Kevin, and there's articles. I've been writing a newsletter for about ten years and I'm gradually posting them it the archives. So there's probably eight or ten up there now. There's a lot of information at my website. There's also, when you sign up there's a free newsletter. It's one of the first things you'll see. If you haven't been to my site, sign up for my free newsletter. That comes out sometimes once a week, sometimes less. The one I sent out today was "how to deal with your doctor," your medical doctor. How to get the responses you need from him, or her.
Kevin: Cool.
Nomi: Last week I put out a bunch of recipes called "Summertime Recipes." Sometimes I put specials out, I always have really good specials. But when you sign up for my newsletter you also receive a free seven-part course which is called The Raw Truth. And that gets emailed to you every other day or so until seven have arrived and it stops. It's just little snippets of information about fat and other things like that, and each one will have a recipe with it.
Kevin: Oh, each one has a recipe! Oh that's great. So where you can find that is when you go to Nomi's site www.rawgourmet.com , you can go there right now and on the left-hand side, as of this recording it's an orange box and it says "newsletter." You can get seven recipes seven days in a row that you can prepare for your family or for your friends or for yourself.
Nomi: And if you want to see the most recent picture of me and my little grandson Seth go to, I think it's just "The Raw Gourmet." Because I never, I'm just the most un- photogenic person, and the picture of me is like ten years old, so my daughter sent me a picture and it wasn't too horrible so I posted it last month and it's a picture of me and the baby, who is almost a year old now.
Kevin: That's great. Well, I want to thank you for time, I really appreciate it. For those of you who are listening you can go to www.rawgourmet.com and I would recommend getting the seven recipes and Nomi's newsletter and definitely checking out the book. Ann Marie loves it and she's going to be preparing some of those recipes. So you're going to be hearing a lot about it on the Renegade Health Show. So Nomi I want to thank you for your time.
Nomi: My pleasure.
